Communications Specialist, Writer and Editor - 37421

Proactively identifies communication opportunities. Leads development of written materials that are aligned to the Consortium’s communications plan and messaging strategy that  can be incorporated into a variety of communication assets (e.g. video scripts, pamphlets, webpages, etc).  Supports staff and leadership by providing guidance regarding strategic messaging, developing written materials based on high-level information provided by other staff; leads and contributes to agile and efficient editorial processes.  Responsible for implementing a high-quality production process including information gathering from a variety of expert sources, writing, proofing for grammar and editing for clarity and ensuring stringent accessibility requirements are met.

Executive Assistant - 39199

Under the direction of the executive staff and in compliance with the University's policies and procedures, serve as an Executive Assistant for the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. Major functions and areas of responsibility include oversight and coordination of operational functions: cultivate effective relationships with service providers and key consortium partners, proof documents and coordinate the development of technical presentations, manage the executives' calendars, travel plans, and travel reimbursements. Coordinate Consortium in-person meetings including managing meeting budgets, procuring venues and tracking reimbursements. Maintain and enhance Key Consortium Documents including Governing Board Procedures, Consortium Vote Records, and Consortium Staff Procedures. Serve as Smarter Balanced coordinator for emergency planning and security matters. Perform special projects or assignments, as needed. Senior Product Manager, Reporting System - 41208

Develops the overall strategic vision and product development life cycle of the Smarter Balanced Reporting System, which reports data and analytics on student assessment results for member states. Through subordinate staff, creates tactical work plans to achieve strategic goals. Drives multi-year roadmap, including data-driven change-management processes, to ensure that the product evolves as necessary to meet strategic needs. Creates analytical frameworks for prioritizing product features, filtered against market / competitive analysis and available system data, to best meet strategic goals. Builds requirements based on input from State Educational Agencies, educators, and staff to estimate effort and filters against market/competitive analysis. Determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Understands layered user personas and refines user experience to drive customer satisfaction and business impact. Reviews and approves recommendations for products / services development. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Establishes systems and processes to prioritize reporting system development plans and feature enhancements. Outreach involves the development and advancement of policy positions through ongoing formal and informal communications with governmental staff, planning and directing large association meetings, and managing tasks that are large-scale, complex, and include varied controversial and / or politically sensitive issues or content.
