Smarter Balanced Extends Deadline for K-2 Literacy and Dyslexia Screener RFQ
Santa Clara, CA, July 3, 2025 — Smarter Balanced has extended the deadline for its Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking to identify organizations with high-quality K-2 literacy and dyslexia screeners for the purpose of organizational collaboration. The new deadline for responses is Monday, July 28, 2025 at 2 p.m. Pacific.
Originally issued on Monday, June 9, 2025, the RFQ aims to strengthen alignment between early learning and later-grade assessments while supporting member needs in foundational literacy. Qualified organizations are invited to collaborate with Smarter Balanced on early literacy tools that are research-based, developmentally appropriate, and instructionally relevant.
In addition, organizations may submit questions or requests for clarification to bobbi.ortega@smarterbalanced.org by 2 p.m. Pacific on Monday, July 7, 2025.
All other RFQ details remain the same. The updated RFQ is available now, and responses to questions will be available by 2 p.m. Pacific on Monday, July 14, 2025.
