Teacher Twitter Chat on Smarter Balanced Assessments
A group of teacher leaders in Washington state participated in an informative Sunday night Twitter chat about Smarter Balanced assessments. Using the hashtag #WATeachLead, the teachers, who are a part of the CORElaborate WA program, shared their thoughts on state testing and asked questions to the Smarter Balanced Twitter handle.
The entire Twitter chat is also captured via Storify (it’s easiest to read from the bottom up).
CORElaborate WA conducts monthly Twitter chats about a variety of topics. While primarily a Washington state effort, teachers from all over the nation participate in the monthly chats. Additionally, about 20 teachers write monthly blogs about their classroom practices, which also include testing. Recent blog items about Smarter Balanced include: Formative Interim Tests and Using SBA Interim Tests.
During the Twitter chat, Smarter Balanced received questions about computer adaptive tests, practice tests, the new sample items Website, how tests are scored, as well as many others.
