Example of a Smarter Balanced test question that reads: "Jack has 24 fish. He puts them into 4 bowls. Each bowl has an equal number of fish. How many fish are in each bowl?" An online calculator sits under the question to allow students to type in their answer.

Smarter Balanced releases online, interactive samples of test questions and performance tasks. A core feature of Smarter Balanced assessments is that they are customized for each student for more accurate measurement.
